Crosscountry skiing trip in Kamchatka

Trip №5. Crosscountry skiing over the Nalychevo valley.

This crosscountry skiing trip is open from April 10, till May 20.
Dates of arrivals for 2008:
- April 09,
- April 20.
This trip is meant for the tourists with average physical training: approximately 6 hours of ski trip a day with a backpack of 10-15 kg.

During this crosscountry skiing trip you will visit such unique places of Kamchatka as the biggest agglomeration of Kamchatka's hot springs located on the territory of the Nalychevo valley, natural narzans and mud pots. You will ski and you will get a perfect tan. This trip gives you an opportunity to observe wild nature of Kamchatka.

Schedule:
1st day. Meeting at the airport. Transfer to the resort (30 km). Accommodation, rest, swimming pool with hot thermal water.
2nd day.Helicopter fly to the Nalychevo valley, the Talovskiye hot springs the exits of which are located along the both shores of the Talova river. Look-over of Avacha and Koryaksky volcanoes. Flight time is 40 minutes. Bathing in thermal springs. Accommodation for a night in a wooden house.
3rd day. Rest. Crosscountry skiing trip. Swimming in thermal springs. Accommodation for night in a wooden house.
4th day. Crosscountry skiing trip to the Nalychevsky hot springs, visiting of the Krayevedchesky hot springs (12 km). Accommodation and night in a wooden house.
5th day.Rest. Swimming in thermal hot springs.Crosscountry skiing to boiling mud pots and mud siphons. Visiting the Nalychevo Park museum. Accommodation and night in a wooden house.
6th day.Crosscountry skiing to the valley of the Pinachevo river, crossing the Pinachevo pass (1.160 m). From the top of the pass you can observe stunning landscapes and views to Koryacksky, Aag and Arick volcanoes. A way down the pass takes much time and brings a lot of pleasure. Accommodation and night in a wooden house.
7th day.Crosscountry skiing down the valley to the Pinachevo settlement (27 km). Moving back to the resort by car. Accommodation, rest, swimming pool with thermal water.
8th day.Spare day in case of snowstorm. This day is added to the period of ski trip in case of bad weather, snowstorms when movement is extremely difficult.
9th day.City orientation tour. Visit to the Museum of Local History. Visit to the fish market. Purchase of souvenirs.
10th day. Transfer to the airport.


The tour costs 990 EURO for a person.

The price for this trip includes:
1. 3 meals per day within the whole trip;
2. Guide service within the whole trip;
3. Cook service within the whole trip;
4. Interpreter service within the whole trip;
5. Basic equipment;
6. Transport services (bus, helicopter);

Each participant of the crosscountry skiing trip must have a backpack, a sleeping bag, a rug, additional warm footwear, skis, means of personal hygiene, a bathing suit, and sunglasses.

Trip №6. The Pacific Ocean Ring. Crosscountry skiing.

Crosscountry skiing trip

This crosscountry skiing trip is open from April 15, till May 20.

This trip is meant for the tourists with good physical training: approximately 6 hours of walk a day with a rucksack of 10-15 kg.

During this crosscountry skiing trip you will visit such unique places of Kamchatka as the crater of active volcano Mutnovsky, Gorely volcano, which has 11 craters of different shape and size, the picturesque bay of Zhirovaya which is located on the Pacific Ocean coast. You will also visit the biggest Kamchatka's geothermal power station Mutnovskaya and the hot thermal springs Dachnye. This trip gives you a perfect opportunity to get acquainted with and to observe wild nature of Kamchatka.

Schedule:
1st day. Arrival at the airport. Transfer to the resort (30 km). Accommodation, rest, swimming pool with hot thermal water.
2nd day.Drive to the plateau of Gorely volcano by "off-road" car (100 km). Look-over of the plateau and lava streams. A sublime beauty of Viluchinsky and Mutnovsky volcanoes covered with 3-4m of dazzling snows will be exposed to your eyes. Beginning of the ski trip towards Mutnovsky volcano (5 km). Accommodation and night in tents.
3rd day. Crosscountry skiing trip towards Mutnovsky volcano (10 km). Walk to a waterfall (90 m) located in Opasny (Dangerous) canyon. Accommodation and night in tents.
4th day. An effecting ascent to Mutnovsky volcano crater (2.323 m). Seeing active fumaroles and mud siphons. The crater of Mutnovsky volcano is one of the most striking volcanic activities in Kamchatka. Steep walls surround deep and wide cavity of the crater glimmering with glaciers, smoking with exits of boiling fumaroles and covered from inside with cragged cracks. The ascent lasts for 8 hours. In case of any difficulties it is possible to interrupt the ascent and return to the base camp. Accommodation and night in tents.
5th day. Crosscountry skiing to the Dachnye hot springs (15 km). The rout goes along the caldera of Gorely volcano and crosses the Pionersky pass (1.100 m). The ascent to Pionersky pass takes about 2 hours. To the left you can observe an obsidian (volcanic glass) rock, which is called Devil's finger. Then, down-run to the hot springs. The Dachnye hot sprigs are located quite near to the Geothermal power station. Seeing of power station site and thermal site of the Dachnye hot springs active pot. Thermal site looks like a small amphitheatre, the walls and bottom of which are made of travertine (sedimentation of thermal springs). Here you will have an opportunity to observe pulsating hot springs, steam streams, mud pots and a lot of small exits of hot water. Accommodation and a night in tents.
6th day. Crosscountry skiing to the Voinovskiye hot springs (12 km). The rout descends to the Zhirovaya river along the slopes of ancient Zhirovoy volcano and goes down to the Mutnaya river where the Voinovskiye hot springs are located. Accommodation and a night in tents.
7th day. Crosscountry skiing to the Pacific Ocean shore, to Zhirovaya bay (12 km). The bay is located among the cliffs the tops of which are covered with forest. The length of a sand beach is 3 km. Several waterfalls rush from the cliffs to the bay. Accommodation and night in tents.
8th day. Crosscountry skiing to the Zhirovskiye hot springs (15 km). Rest, bathing in thermal springs. The springs are located at a picturesque place of the Zhirovaya river and exhibit themselves two boiling gryphons and a plenty of thermal exits forming natural basins. Accommodation and night in tents.
9th day. Crosscountry skiing over the Tenyeva pass (520 m) to the valley of the Vilucha river. At the top of the pass you will see a marvelous view to the valley of the Zhirovaya river, Zhirovaya bay, neighboring peaks and Viluchensky volcano. Trip to the Viluchenskiye hot springs (12 km). Accommodation and night in tents.
10th day. Rest at the Viluchenskiye hot springs. The springs are located at the junction point of the Spokoiny stream and the Vilucha river. There is a swimming pool and curing baths. Bathing in hot springs. Excursion to the abandoned gold mine gallery. Accommodation and night in tents.
11th day. Crosscountry skiing to the Viluchensky pass (6 km). Visit to the waterfall (approximately 40 m height) at the Spokoiny stream. Return back to the resort by "off-road" car. Accommodation, rest, swimming pool with thermal water.
12-13th day. Spare days in case of snowstorm. These days are added to the period of ski trip in case of bad weather conditions, snowstorms when movement is extremely difficult. In case of good weather conditions the group spends these days at the Viluchenskiye hot springs.
14th days. Guided city tour. Visit to the Museum of Local History. Visit to the fish market. Purchase of souvenirs.
15th day. Transfer to the airport.

Trip №7. Crosscountry skiing trip over The Ring of hot springs.

Crosscountry skiing trip over The Ring of hot springs

This crosscountry skiing trip is open from April 15, till May 20.

The trip is meant for the tourists with average physical training - approximately 6 hours of walk a day with a rucksack of 10-15 kg.

During this crosscountry skiing trip you will visit 5 different hot springs; you will have an opportunity to admire stunning mountain landscapes, to observe wild nature of Kamchatka, to ski and to get a perfect tan.

Schedule:
1st day. Arrival at the airport. Transfer to the resort (30 km). Accommodation, rest, swimming pool with hot thermal water.
2nd day.Trip to the Verkhne Paratunskiye hot springs by "off-road" car (60 km). Ski walk (7 km) to the Kamcshinskiye hot springs. The springs present several exits of hot thermal waters at a small glade warmed-up by thermal waters, bounded by two high mountain peaks. Bathing in hot springs.Accommodation and a night in tents.
3rd day. Crosscountry skiing up to the valley of the Karymshina river through a picturesque birch forest to the Tolsty (Fat) Cape mountain (20 km). Accommodation and night in tents.
4th day. Crosscountry skiing over the Tolsty (Fat) Cape pass (1.050 m) to the headstream of the Karumchina river (18 km). Accommodation and night in tents.
5th day. Crosscountry skiing to the Karymchinskiye hot springs (10 km). Bathing, rest, excursion over the hot springs. The Karymchinskiye hot springs are located in a narrow valley surrounded by rugged tops of ridges. The springs represent numerous water exits sprawling along the river for 4 km. The temperature of water is 65o C. The amount of flowing-out water is very poor. Hot water leaks out of a low shore steep forming beautiful fragile multicolored sinters covered with thermophilic algae. Accommodation and night in tents.
6th day.Crosscountry skiing to the Malye Bannye hot springs (20 km) over the Chop pass (900 m). Rest and bathing at hot springs. The springs are located on the right shore of Maly Kluch river. Hot water exits are concentrated at relatively small area (about 36m2) where they interflow into one warm brook. At the exits of thermal water sediments of white salts (sulphates and geyzerits) are being formed. Around the exits regular thermophilic algae are growing. Accommodation and night in tents.
7th day. Crosscountry skiing to the Bolshie Bannye hot springs (5 km). Bathing in hot springs and a pool with thermal water. The Bolshie Bannye hot springs consist of 24 groups and occupy a territory of 1.5 km. Here are more than 550 boiling, bobbling and spouting springs and mud pots. Walls of some gryphons and areas around them are covered with geyserites. Massive plates of geyserit outcropping above the water level of the Bannaya river testify of the lapsed activity of these springs. Accommodation and night in a wooden house.
8th day. Rest day. Bathing in hot springs. Seeing mud siphons and fumarole's fields. Ascent to the Sunduk (Chest) mountain. Accommodation and night in a wooden house.
9th day. Crosscountry skiing over the Taburetka pass to Yagodnoye lake (16 km). The ascent to pass takes approximately 3 hours. In a fine day from the top of the pass a picturesque view to Nachinskoye lake and Vachkazjets volcano can be seen. The way down the pass takes a long time and brings a lot of pleasant impressions. Accommodation and night in tents.
10th day. Crosscountry skiing to the Nachiki settlement. The rout goes through a birch forest and crosses frozen Nachikinskoye lake (18 km). Return back to the resort by "off-road" car (90 km). Accommodation, rest, swimming pool with thermal water.
11-12th days. Spare days in case of snowstorm. These days are added to the period of ski treks in case of bad weather conditions, snowstorms when movement is extremely difficult. In case of good weather the group spends these days at the Bolshie Bannye hot springs.
13th day. Guided city tour. Visit to the Museum of Local History. Visit to the fish market. Purchase of souvenirs.
14th day. Transfer to the airport.

Trip №8.Crosscountry skiing trip. Ksydach and Khodytka volcanoes.

This crosscountry skiing trip is open from April 15, till May 20.

The trip is meant for the tourists with average physical training - approximately 6 hours of walk a day with a rucksack of 10-15 kg.

During this crosscountry skiing trip you will visit two unique places of Kamchatka. These places are a huge caldera, two lakes at Ksydach volcano and the biggest in Kamchatka hot springs, which are located nearby Khodutka volcano, one of the most beautiful volcanoes in Kamchatka. You will have an opportunity to observe wild nature of Kamchatka, to see Kamchatka's bears, snow rams and birds.

Schedule:
1st day. Arrival at the airport. Transfer to the resort (30 km). Accommodation, rest, swimming pool with hot thermal water.
2nd day. Helicopter trip to Ksudach volcano (1,2 hours). During the flight you will observe the following volcanoes: Viluchinsky (2.175 m height), Mutnovsky (2.323 m height), Gorely (1.829 m height), Asacha (1.910 m height) and Khodutka (2.087 m height). Excursion over the hot springs of Kluchevskoye lake. Accommodation and night in tents.
3rd day. Crosscountry skiing excursion over the caldera of Ksudach volcano. Look-over of pumice sediments and fumaroles. It is possible to see bears and snow rams. Accommodation and night in tents.
4th day. Crosscountry skiing to Khodutka volcano (15 km). During the trip you will see one of the most beautiful lakes of Kamchatka, which is called Shtubel's lake. The lake is located in the ancient crater of Ksudach volcano and surrounded by rugged shores. The river flowing down of the volcano crater turns into a huge waterfall. You will also see the residuals of volcanic eruption, which took place in 1907 when all the forests surrounding volcano were covered with volcanic cinder. Accommodation and night in tents.
5th day. We continue to move to Khodutka volcano (20 km). Accommodation and night in tents.
6th day.Crosscountry skiing to Khodutka (17 km). When approaching the volcano a picturesque view to the rugged cones of Khodutka and Priemush (Adopt Child) volcanoes is exposed to your eyes. The walk finishes at a big glade where a big hot lake is located. A hot river flows out of the lake. The river's width is 30 meters. Rest at the river bank. Swimming in the lake and river. Accommodation for a night in a wooden house.
7th day. Rest at the Khodutkinskiye hot springs. Crosscountry skiing over the foot of Khodutka volcano, bathing in hot springs. Accommodation for a night in a wooden house.
8th day.Back to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky by a helicopter. Flight time is 1 hour. Accommodation at the resort, rest, swimming pool with thermal water. Guided city tour. Visit to the Visit to the Museum of Local History. Visit to the fish market. Purchase of souvenirs.
Crosscountry skiing in Kamchatka
9th day. Spare day in case of snowstorm. This day is added to the period of ski touring in case of adverse weather conditions, snowstorms when movement is extremely difficult. In case of good weather, the group spends this day at the Khodutkinskiye hot springs.
10th day. Transfer to the airport.
