Hiking trip on Kamchatka
Tour ¹17.Combined. The tour to the preserve Kronotsky and to the Valley of Geysers
The best time for this tour is from the 1st of July to the 15th of September.
The dates of arrival in 2008 : the 9th of July, 20th of August
The maximum quantity of participants is 12 persons.
During this tour you’ll walk through the area of the natural biosphere preserve Kronotsky where the biggest population of brown bears in the world is in the background of wild nature. Here is primordial nature and a great number of animals and plants. During the tour you’ll visit one of the marvelous places of Kamchatka – the active volcano “Burljaschy” and the caldera of the volcano “Uzon”. You’ll see the unique place – the Valley of Geysers – and walk around it. This is natural thermal system of Kamchatka. It is famous all over the world with its beauty and inimitableness. During the flight you’ll observe the volcanoes and the wild nature of Kamchatka from the helicopter.
1st day. Arrival at the airport. Transfer to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky (25km). Accommodation at the hotel. Rest. Walking around the city. Checking of the tourist outfit.
2nd day.. Flight by helicopter to the natural preserve to the caldera of the volcano “Burljaschy” (1 hour 30 minutes). During the flight the observation of the volcanoes “Avacha”, “Korjak”, “Zhupanovsky” and also the acid lake in the crater of “Maly Semjachik” volcano. Installation of a camp. Walking to the hot springs. Spending the night in the tents.
3rd day. Trekking to the caldera of Burljaschy volcano (5-6 hours), to the hot springs, little geysers and boiling muds. Bathing in the wild hot springs. It is possible to observe the bears. Spending the night in the tents.
4-5th day. Trekking in the direction of the Valley of Geysers (25km). During the walking you’ll enjoy the rich world of animals and plants in the preserve. Spending the night in tents.
6th day. Trekking (9km) and excursion in the Valley of Geysers. Observation of boiling mud and more than 20 geysers. In the evening returning to the camping (9km).
7th day.Trekking on the caldera of Uzon volcano to the sulphuretted hydrogen lakes on the picturesque tundra where you can see the bears eating the beers. In the evening returning to the camping.
8th day. Trekking on the caldera of Uzon volcano to the boiling mud and mud little volcanoes. Rest.
9th day. Trekking on the alp meadows (16km) through the upper reaches of the Taunscits river to the foot Taunscits volvano. Spending the night in tents.
10th day. Flight by helicopter to the city (Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky). During the flight observation of Karymsky volcano which is one of the most active volcano of Kamchatka. Accomodation in the resort area “Paratunka”. Spending the night in the hotel. Bathing in the pools with thermal water.
11th day. Guided city tour. Visit to the Museum of Local History. Visit to the fish market. Purchase of souvenirs. Sea-trip along the Avacha Bay. Seeing the sea birds nests on the islands “Babushkin Kamen (Granny’s Stone)” and “Tree Brata (Three Brothers)”. Short trip in the Pacific Ocean to the island “Starichkov”. Sea fishing, seeing the seal rookery. Opportunity to meet whales, dolphins. Lunch, fresh fish soup.
12th day. Departure to the airport.
The cost of this tour for 1 person is 2200 EURO if the group consists of not less than 8 people.
The extra pay for the accommodation in a single department is 100 EURO
