Tour ą18.Combined. The Land of active volcanoes
The best time to realize this tour is from the 15th of June till the 15th of September.
The dates of arrivals in 2008 are on the 10th of July, 19th of July, the 28th of July, the 6th of August, the 15th of August, the 24th of August, the 2rd of September.
During the tour you can cross Kamchatka from South to North.
Moving from one climatic zone in another you will get in the central part of Kamchatka, where the largest volcanoes of Eurasia are located. You will visit one of the most interesting places for tourists in Kamchatka – Kljutchevskaja group of volcanoes, which includes the highest and the most famous volcano – Kljutchevskaja Sopka.
It is an area of the highest display of vulcanic activity in the territory of Russia. You will climb up the most southern volcanoes: Plosky Tolbachik (3085) and also new volcanoes (299m and 278m) of the Northern break of 1975. You will walk on “The dead wood”, which was destroyed during the eruption. The route passes till a plateau at height about 1000 meters above the sea level, through the high mountainous Alpine meadows and volcanic fields similar to a lunar landscape. On these fields the first Soviet cars “Lunohod 1” (moon car 1) and “Marsohod 1” (mars car 1) were tested. You will visit the settlement Esso, which is a center of tribes’ area and Bistrinsky national park. This settlement is often called “Kamchatka’s Switzerland”. You will visit the museum of local history and the exhibition. During the tour you will be able to bath in the natural hot springs and in the pools with the thermal water many times.
1st day. You will be met in the airport and move to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky (25km). There you will accommodate in a hotel (DBL), have a rest and walk to the town.
2nd day.Driving by “off-road” car to Mutnovsky volcano. Installation of the tents. Walking to the waterfall in the canyon “Opasny” (The Dangerous). Spending the night in tents.
3rd day. Ascent to the crater of Mutnovsky volcano (2323m). Seeing active fumaroles, mud siphons, mud craters, mountain lake. The crater of volcano Mutnovsky is one of the most wonderful volcanic phenomenon of Kamchatka. Steep walls surround wide and deep crater, with shining glaciers. Ascending takes 8 hours. If it is difficult for somebody to ascend it’s possible to return to the camp. Spending the night in tents.
4th day.Excursion to Gorely volcano (1829m), walk along the coulee (hardened lava-stream), slag fields, seeing of 3 craters with lakes in it. The excursion takes 5 hours. Driving back to the recreation department by “off road” car(100km).. Accomodation, rest, bathing in the pool with thermal water.
5th day.You will depart by “off-road” car to the area of Kljuchevskaja group of volcanoes (550km). You will have lunch in the settlement Milkovo. Then you will move on the ferry through the river Kamchatka (the biggest river in Kamchatka). You will make a tent camp in an area of the settlement Kozirevsk. In clear weather from this place a wonderful view of the highest volcanoes in Kamchatka opens: Krestovsky (4057m), Ushkovsky (3903m), Kljutchevskoy (4750m), Kamen (4579m), Plosky Tolbachik (3082m) and Ostry Tolbachik (3672m). Spending the night in the tents.
6th day. You will go by car to the bottom of a beautiful volcanic massif formed by the volcanoes Ostry and Plosky Tolbachik. The environment of the lunar landscape will leave the unforgettable impression. The location of the camping is called “The Base of Moon cars”. Spending the night in the tents.
7th day.You will climb up the top of the volcano Plosky Tolbachik (3085m) on slag fields and on lava flows. The climbing up lasts 7-8 hours. And it is not technically difficult. During the climbing up you will observe all Kljuchewskoy group of volcanoes. On the top of the volcano is a large crater, which has a width of 1800m and a depth of more than 500m. Then you will come back to the camping. Spending the night in the tents.
8th day. You will drive by car to the Northern Break after the eruption 1975 (18km). You will climb up the new cones (Tolbachinsky cones). These are volcanoes in a miniature. Their height is 100-200 meters. Then you will go by car to the Southern Break, where you will visit the cones of the Southern Break and walk in “The Dead Wood”, which was destroyed by slag and lava eruptions in 1975. You will come back to the camping. Spending the night in the tents.
9th day. You will go by car to the settlement Esso (150km, 5 hours). You will accommodate in a private hotel in rooms for 2-4 men. You will have a rest, bath in the pool with thermal water.
10th day. You will make an excursion program. You will visit the Museum of local history and exhibition of souvenirs. You will know the culture of local tribes. Spending the night in a hotel.
11th day. You will come back by car to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky (550km, 5 hours). You will accommodate in a basis of rest in a resort zone Paratunka in the rooms for 2 men. You will have a rest, bath in the pool with thermal water.
12th day. You will visit the fishing market and buy the local souvenirs. You will leave Kamchatka, you will be delivered in the airport. Or you can go on the other tour (if you want).
Change of sequence of passage of round is possible.
The cost of this tour for 1 person is 1180 EURO (if the group consists of not less than 8 people).
The extra pay for the accommodation in a single department is 150 EURO
The cost includes:
1.3 time a meal day during the whole trip.

5.Base equipment (tents, rafts etc).
6.Transport services (bus, "off-road" car, cutter).

It's possible to use satellite phone for extra fee.
