The best period of the tour is from the 1th of July till the 15th of September.

This is a saturated survey tour which grants the best opportunity to get acquainted with all main attractions of Kamchatka: active volcanoes, hot springs, wild nature and traditional culture of native peoples without expensive helicopter flights. Nevertheless you also have an option to take a helicopter excursion to the world famous Valley of Geysers.

You visit the Tolbachik area in the Central Kamchatka 500 km from Petropavlovsk, where the Great Tolbachik Fissure Eruption took place in 1975-76 and has left impressive after-effects: new volcanic cones with hot summits, huge ash fields, hardened lava streams, ash-burned forest. Tops of the new cones are still blazing. This area is a reminiscence of the Moon and first Soviet lunar vehicles were tested here.
You enter the crater of the Mutnovsky Volcano with intensive powerful gas and steam spurts and boiling mood cauldrons. Mutnovsky is considered the most impressive Kamchatka volcano now because it is always active.

You cross taiga and mountains by rafts along the Bystraya River with good chances to see brown bears and to fish salmon.

You visit national settlements of native people – the Evens and get acquainted with their history, culture and present life. You also have a chance to see their national holiday “The Aborigine’s Day” if come there in proper time.

You also have some time for relaxation at Hot Springs resort in Paratunka.

1st day.Arrival in Petropavlovsk. Accommodation in a hotel at Paratunka Hot Springs resort. Acclimatization.
2nd day.Relaxation in Paratunka. Optional excursions (extra fee in site): Valley of Geysers by helicopter; others. Overnight in the hotel.
3rd day. Drive by 6WD bus to Kozyrevsk in the Central Kamchatka (500 km). Overnight in tents near the Kozyrevskoye Lake.
4th day. Drive to Tolbachik area (50 km off roads). Excursion to the Northern new cones. Overnight in tents. Kamchatka tour
5th day. Optional ascending Plosky Tolbachik volcano (3080 m). For the rest of the group - excursion to the Dead Forest and the Southern new cones. Overnight in tents.
6th day. Drive (150 km) to Esso. Accommodation in a small private hotel. Visit the Esso Ethnography Museum.
7th day.Excursion to the Even national village Anavgai. Acquaintance with traditional dances, games, food. Overnight in the hotel.
8th day.Visit to the Handicrafts Studio. Return (400 km) by 6WD bus to Malky. Start of rafting along Bystraya River. Overnight in tents.
9th day. Rafting along Bystraya River (high probability to see bears and salmon). Fishing. Overnight in tents.
10th day. End of rafting and return to Petropavlovsk by 6WD bus. Overnight in a hotel.
11th day.Drive (150 km) by 6WD bus to Mutnovsky volcano area. Walks around. Overnight in tents.
12th day.Ascending the crater of Mutnovsky volcano (2322 m). Overnight in tents.
13th day. Excursion to Gorely volcano (1829 m). Return to Paratunka. Accommodation in a hotel.
14th day. Bus excursion to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. Museum of Local Lore. Boat cruise in the Avachinskaya Bay. Fish Market.
15th day.Departure from Petropavlovsk.

Helicopter excursion to Valley of Geysers (to pay on spot): around ˆ 480; with Uzon Caldera around ˆ 500 per person

The cost includes:

1) a rucksack or travel bag

5) things for personal hygiene, bathing accessories
6) warm clothes (waterproof and windeblock jacket)
