Bears and Volcanoes.
The best time period for the tour is from 1 July until 30 September.
Starting dates of tours in 2008: 21.07; 25.07; 01.08; 05.08.
During the tour, you will visit unique Kamchatka corners: Kurilskoye lake, where you will watch running and spawning salmon and fishing brown bears. You will see a huge caldera and two lakes on the Ksudach volcano. You will also have an opportunity to enjoy swimming in the biggest Kamchatka hot springs, located under the foot of Khodutka volcano, visit active volcanoes Gorely and Mutnovsky. Flying in a helicopter over the area, you will observe from above the volcanoes and virgin Kamchatka nature.
You will make a cruise through Avacha Bay and Pacific Ocean feasting your eyes with nesting sea birds. You will get acquainted with the amazing Geyser Valley.
1st day. Meeting at the airport, transfer to the city of Petropavlovsk (25 km). Accommodation in a hotel, rest, walks around the city.
2nd day. (The guest to bears)A helicopter flight to the Ksudach volcano caldera (1.2 hours) passing volcanoes Viluchinsky (2,175 m), Mutnovsky (2,323 m), Gorely (1,829 m), Asacha (1,910 m), Khodutka (2,087 m). Excursion round the caldera (1.5 – 2 hours), hot springs of the Kluchevoye Lake and the dead volcano crater – the Shtubel Lake. The excursion is followed by a transfer to the Kurilskoye Lake. Accommodation in rooms for two or four persons in a big house, equipped with a shower and a WC, in a luxurious camp. Special viewing points are designed for watching bears.
3rd day. Rest, walking, watching salmon run and she-bears fishing or feeding in berry tundra.
4th day. Helicopter flight to the Khodutka volcano (20 min.) and hot Khodutkinskoye Lake (diameter 150 – 200 meters), giving start to a 30-meter-wide hot river. Swimming in the hot lake and river. Return to the city by the helicopter. Accommodation in a resort centre, located in the resort area “Paratunka”. Rest, swimming in the thermal water pool.
5th day. Motorboat trip in Avachinskaya Bay. Watching nesting places of sea birds living on the Babushkin Kamen (Old Woman’s Stone) Island, Tri Brata (Three Brothers) Island. Going out to the Pacific Ocean up to the Starichkov Island. Watching the largest nesting place of sea birds (including Steller’s sea eagle). Tourists are very likely to meet dolphins, sea lions, killer whales. A tour around the city.
6th day. An offroader drive to the Mutnovsky volcano. On road visiting "Verhneparatunsky" hot sources on mountain "Hot". Accommodation on Mutnovskay geothermal station, in hotel - a hostel for the personnel of station (on 4 persons), (or, at will, in tents). Excursion walk (2 hours) on group of hot sources «Dachnie».
7th day. Climbing the Mutnovsky volcano crater (2,323 m). Getting acquainted with active fumaroles, mud trap rocks and a mountain lake. Mutnovsky volcano crater is one of the most amazing volcano phenomena in Kamchatka region. Steep walls surrounding a wide and deep hole of the crater with sparkling ice collar split by cracks and outburst boiling fumaroles (climbing time is about 8 hours).
8th day. Climbing the Gorely volcano (1,829 m), walking on the lava bed, slack fields, getting acquainted with 8 crater lakes (excursion time – 8 hours). Evening – an offroader drive to the resort centre. Accommodation, rest, swimming in the thermal water pool.
9th day. Excursion-free day. Tourists may make a helicopter tour to the Geyser Valley including the flight over Karymsky (1,486 m) and Semyachik (1560 m) volcanoes, a walking excursion around the Geyser Valley. Lunch in the Geyser Valley.
10th day.a tour around the city, including a visit to the fish market. Buying Kamchatka souvenirs. Transfer to the airport, seeing off.
Change of sequence of passage of round is possible.
Tour cost per person – 1,930 euros.
Additional fee for accommodation in single hotel and resort centre rooms - 150 euros.
The cost of helicopter tour around the Geyser Valley and Uzon volcano – 470 EURO per person. The tour is arranged in favourable weather and is paid for separately.
Tour cost includes:
1. three meals a day throughout the tour.
2. a guide throughout the tour.
3. cooking services throughout the tour.
4. basic outfit (tents, tableware, etc.)
5. transport (couch, offroader, motorboat, helicopter).
6. accommodation in the hotel and the resort centre.
The cost does not cover:
1. alcoholic beverages, beer, cigarettes.
2. souvenirs.
