Trekking trip on Kamchatka

Tour N 19. Ascent to Klyuchevskoy volcano (4750m).

The best period for the tour is from June 15 till August 30.


The tour is meant only for very well-trained sportsmen-tourists.

Kluchevskoy volcano is the highest active volcano of Europe and Asia, and one of the most active. At the top there is a crater 300 meters in diameter, which constantly changes its form. Beside this crater the volcano has about 80 lateral vents and tapers. Klyuchevskoy volcano is famous among tourists and mountaineers all over the world. 1st day. Arrival to the airport, transfer to the hotel (20 km). Accommodation, rest.
2nd day.Driving to the settlement of Esso (500 km). Accommodation in the hotel, bathing in the hot springs. Visit to the national museum.
3rd day.Flight by helicopter to the plateau between Klyuchevskoy and Kamen (Stone) volcanoes (2700 m height). A picturesque outlook to the Klyuchevskoy (4750 m), Kamen (Stone) (4579 m), Krestovsky (4057 m) and Ushkovsky (3903 m) volcanoes is opened from the plateau. Setting up the stationary camp. Spending the night in tents.
4th day.A small walk (4-5 hours) on the glacier of Bogdanovich and the glacier of Erman to Ushkovsky and Krestovsky volcanoes.
5th day. A small ascent to the height of 3200 m, deliver of the food and outfit. Returning to the stationary camp. Spending the night in tents.
6th days. Ascent to the height of 3200 m. Setting up the intermediate camp. Spending the night in tents.
7th day. Storm of the summit of Klyuchevskoy volcano. Returning to the intermediate camp. Spending the night in tents. Kamchatka tour
8th day.Descent up to the stationary camp. Spending the night in tents.
9th day.Flight back to the settlement of Esso. Accommodation in the hotel, rest, bathing in hot springs.
10th-11th day. Spare days which are added to the period of ascent, in case of awful weather when movement is extremely difficult. Under favorable weather conditions in spare days the group makes radial excursions to the spurs of Ushkovsky and Kamen volcanoes.
12th day. Driving back to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky (500 km). Accommodation at the recreation department in the resort area "Paratunka". Bathing in the pool with hot thermal water.
13th day. City guided tour. Visit to the Museum of Local History. Visiting the fish market. Purchase of souvenirs. On request a helicopter excursion to the Valley of Geysers is available.
14th day. Transfer to the airport.

If there are 10 persons in a group, the cost of the given tour is 2000 EURO for 1 person
The cost of the tour depends on the quantity of participants in one group.

The price includes:

1. 3 time meal a day during the whole tour.
2. Service of guide (during the whole tour).
3. Service of cook (during the whole tour).
4. Service of translator (during the whole tour).
5. Base equipment (tents, etc.).
6. Transport service (bus, helicopter).
7. Residence at the hotel and the recreation department.
8. Visa support and registration.

The price doesn't include:

1. Purchase of alcoholic drinks, cigarettes.
2. Purchase of souvenirs.

Tourists themselves carry all the equipment and food.If necessary it's possible to use service of porters and the satellite phone for an extra fee.

Each participant of the tour should have a backpack, a sleeping bag, a tourist rug, strong footwear, grapnels, a helmet, an ice-axe, subjects of personal hygiene, and bathing accessories.
