Tour ¹ 18 The Land of active volcanoes
The best time for the tour is since June 15 till September 15.
The dates of arrivals in 2008 are on the 10th of July, 19th of July, the 28th of July, the 6th of August, the 15th of August, the 24th of August, the 2rd of September.
During the tour you can cross Kamchatka from South to North. Moving from one climatic zone in another you will get in the central part of Kamchatka, where the largest volcanoes of Eurasia are located. You will visit one of the most interesting places for tourists in Kamchatka – Kljutchevskaja group of volcanoes, which includes the highest and the most famous volcano – Kljutchevskaja Sopka. It is an area of the highest display of vulcanic activity in the territory of Russia. You will climb up the most southern volcanoes: Plosky Tolbachik (3085) and also new volcanoes (299m and 278m) of the Northern break of 1975. You will walk on “The dead wood”, which was destroyed during the eruption. The route passes till a plateau at height about 1000 meters above the sea level, through the high mountainous Alpine meadows and volcanic fields similar to a lunar landscape. On these fields the first Soviet cars “Lunohod 1” (moon car 1) and “Marsohod 1” (mars car 1) were tested. You will visit the settlement Esso, which is a center of tribes’ area and Bistrinsky national park. This settlement is often called “Kamchatka’s Switzerland”. Kluchevskoy volcano is the highest active volcano of Europe and Asia, and one of the most active. At the top there is a crater 300 meters in diameter, which constantly changes its form. Beside this crater the volcano has about 80 lateral vents and tapers. Klyuchevskoy volcano is famous among tourists and mountaineers all over the world. During the tour you'll visit one of the most interesting places for tourists on Kamchatka. The route passes on a plateau at the altitude of about 1000m above the sea level, among the highest and active volcanoes of Kamchatka, on high-mountainous Alpine meadows and volcanic fields, which look like moon landscape. The hiking is meant for people who have put on the weight, have lost a good muscular tone and cheerful mood and lead an inactive way of life because of their work or other conditions.
